The trench coat is in many ways is emblematic of unique moment in history. The creative process for the trench coat utilized in this magazine spread, for graduate school demonstrates the use of type to create an image. I used the class framework to explore design concepts by using historical research on the history of the trench coat, fabric materials and weather conditions in which a trench coat may be worn, to construct a trench coat comprised of words of its very own descriptors.
